Lesson Plan: We spoke in detail about the five human values and what they mean and how to put them into practice. Also discussed unity of faith and introduced them to all the different religions which all lead to Swami. For activity we did word search puzzle.

Lesson Plan with story and activity picture sheet Children played a guessing game with pictures of animals and asked to describe the good qualities of each one which we can imbibe in our daily lives

Tiger- strong leader
Elephant- good memory
cat- playful and loving

We started lesson plan with 3oms and 3 Gayatris .

We did silent sitting for a minute saying a prayer .

After that we reviewed life application from previous lesson .

Then we read a short story about George Washington and the cherry tree and told kids that ‘Truth is God ‘

As an activity children were divided in two groups and were asked by teachers to act a scene – What happens if they tell lie n what happens when they tell truth ?

As a second activity they colored pictures of George Washington and his father .

Today’s life application was practice telling the Truth, and someone telling the truth to everyone , everyday .

We completed our class with the affirmation ‘I am happy when I tell the truth’ And with 1 Om and 3 shanti

After that we told them about the short story titled “Ivy likes to give” talks about a little girl who likes to give presents to her family and gets it back .

Discussed it with kids and activity was for them to draw and write three things they would do for their family this Valentine’s Day , besides buying a present or making a card . Kids came up with different ideas.

Life application was to carry out these three things.

We discussed the story of Martin Luther King and his peaceful protest of Boycott of Bus rides which led to the abolition of Segregation. We realized how one can stand up to one’s rights in a peaceful manner and follow the value of NON-VIOLENCE as showed by the great leaders Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi

We dwelled on the importance of not only showing Non-Violence in Actions, but also in Thoughts and Words as mental injury is even more harmful than physical injury.

We went over SAI teachings on always keeping a WATCH on Words, Actions, Thoughts, Character and Heart.

8. Teachers led a discussion about why we should be thankful for nature, sun in particular. Spoke about the importance of the sun and why there�s a festival celebrating it. Children were able to relate to being grateful for the sun and all that it provides for us.
