Hope all is well with Swami’s grace!

We are happy to announce that we are celebrating the auspicious night of Maha Shivarathri with 12 hours of continuous bhajans praising the glory of the Lord. All NYC Centers are jointly conducting these Bhajans and we welcome one and all to join us on this holy occasion and receive the blessings of our beloved Sai.

Friday, February 21st – 6 PM

We request the devotees to plan and try their best to be available for the entire night.

The program details:

3:00 PM – 5:30 PM – Altar Setup / Other Setup
5:30 PM – 5:50 PM – Arrival of Bhajan Singers / Vedam Chanters
5:50 PM – 6:00 PM – Silent Sitting
6:00 PM – 6:35 PM – Vedam (Rudram / Sai Rudram) / Lingastakam / Bilvashtakam
6:35 PM – 7:30 PM – Assigned Adult Bhajans
7:30 PM – 8:45 PM – SSE Bhajans
8:45 PM – 8:00 AM – Open Bhajans (Please see the details below)

Open Bhajans

1. Devotees are requested to sign up at the front desk on first come basis.
2. Batches of 10 each on Men and Ladies side will be formed as batches.
3. These batches will take their places in the first two rows for ease of Microphone movement as well as a fair rotation of lead singers.

Assigned Slots

1, Vedam Chanters: Please arrive by 5:45 PM.
2. Adult Open Slot 6:30 PM: We will assign based on available singers who sign up prior and are available by 5:45 PM on that day
3. SSE Slot 7:30 PM: Will be coordinated by SSE coordinators and request all SSE children to be available by 7:10 PM.

Food Prasadam

will be served at the venue. If you would like to participate in this service, please review the food list for pending items at: CLICK HERE

Altar Setup

will commence on Friday, February 21st 3 PM and we require volunteers to help with the setup.

DIRECTIONS

By Train and Bus
Nearest Subway train is 7

If you take the 7 train, you will need to get off at “Main Street” which is last stop and take the Q17 / Q27 / Q34 / Q25 bus to Holly Ave / Kissena Blvd Stop (it’s about 5 – 7 minutes depending on the traffic from Train station). Please look for the schedule in the bus section.

By Car:

If you are coming from Eastern Long Island, on LIE West, take exit 24, make a right on Kissena Blvd, and Hindu Center will be on right when you are near to Holly Ave.

If you are coming from Manhattan, on LIE East, take exit 24, make a left on Kissena Blvd, and Hindu Center will be on right when you are near to Holly Ave.

By Bus:

MTA Buses – all the buses Q17 / Q25 / Q27 / Q34 all will stop right in front of the Hindu Center.

Q17/Q27 bus runs from Roosevelt Ave and Main street (In front of Burger King), you will need to get off at Holly Ave and Kissena Blvd (Q17 Schedule / Q27 Schedule)

Q25/Q34 bus runs from 40 Rd / Main Street (In front of Cathay Bank/ McDonalds), you will need to get off at Holly Ave and Kissena Blvd (Q25/Q34 Schedule)

Note: If the stop for Q17/Q27 is no longer available at Roosevelt Ave and Main St then please walk towards the 40 Rd and head further towards Kissena Blvd and you will find the bus stop next to the Queens Library building on Kissena Blvd.
